Philipp Grubauer will be the Capitals' starting goaltender for Game 1 of the playoffs.
Interesting. This isn't a complete surprise as Grubauer has outperformed Braden Holtby as of late, to the point where Holtby's standing as the team's number one goaltender has been called into question. At the same time, starting Grubauer over Holtby something of a bold move by coach Barry Trotz. Grubauer will likely be on a short leash, so if he struggles in Game 1, then Holtby will probably get an opportunity.
Bonne nouvelle pour le futur des Flames ça...
